After shooting hundreds of comedians, this black and white preset is a non-destructive, safe and reliable preset. Simple exposure adjustments after should be enough, and I will usually adjust the highlights too depending on the stage lighting or room. An added tip is to create a radial mask around the subject, remove subject, invert the mask and slightly bring down the exposure to draw the eye to the subject and create more of a spotlight effect. (Don’t go too heavy on the adjustments though!)
This preset works with and without flash, on stage or backstage - and creates a timeless aesthetic. Perfect for those photos on the wall at your venue!
